Duncan Copeman Furniture offers a truly personal service to our
clients. Most of our commissions come to us through the personal
recommendation of existing customers, as well as their family and
friends a measure of the standard of service we offer and
quality of the furniture we produce.
We do not offer a set range or style of furniture. Every kitchen
or piece of furniture we make evolves through consultation with
our customers from the concept, through design to the finished product.
Thereby creating a broad spectrum of truly bespoke furniture.
We mainly work in Native and European hardwoods as well as hardwoods
from North America. Oak, Ash, Elm, Maple, Walnut, Cherry and Tulipwood
are typical, we also like to work in combinations of different timbers
and materials burr veneers, metal and glass.
Granite, Marble, Wooden Worktops and Kitchen Appliances can all
be supplied by us. With larger projects we are happy to liaise with
other trades as appropriate, or, if necessary we can arrange for
associate trades (plumbers, electricians, painters, tillers etc)
to work as and when required.
Should you have any queries whatsoever please dont hesitate
to contact us and we will be happy to
help with your enquiry.
Price Guide
As each Kitchen, Study or piece of furniture we make is individual
and unique it is very difficult to produce a price list/guide as
a mass manufacturer would.
Obviously the scale, design, nature and specification of the commission
involved can influence the cost considerably. We would be happy
to give you an indication of likely expected cost once we have an
idea of the project you have in mind.
The commissioning process
THE FIRST BIT
Having looked at the website you may wish to arrange a meeting.
At this stage we would visit you to determine the environment in
which the kitchen or furniture is to be sited. We will be able to
gather information on your tastes, budgetary constraints and time
scale we would need to work in.
THE SECOND BIT
Preliminary designs are produced, together with estimated costs
for the project.
Following consultations with you, designs may be modified and developed,
once finalised a revised estimate or quotation is provided.
THE THIRD BIT
At the point of ordering a deposit would be paid to secure a diary
slot. Depending on the nature of the work being commissioned and
the time scale involved a payment schedule would be agreed.
When working on the furniture clients are welcome to visit the
workshop to see their furniture evolve. For those customers further
a-field we are happy to email photos of work in progress.
